It's officially March. We had an extra day in February this year so I hope that you used it wisely. I feel like Leap Year Day isn't celebrated that much, but like, it's a whole EXTRA DAY. For the few people who may be wondering what that effects astrologically, it doesn't do anything. Leap year is a man-made thing so the planets don't really give a shit about it. That being said, anyone with a birthday after February 29 is going to have their astrological birthday one day before their calendar birthday this year (your astrological birthday being when the sun reaches the same point in the sky that it was when you were born).
But that's enough about February, let us look ahead and check out what's going on for the next 31 days.
March 4
Mercury Retrogrades into Aquarius
When a planet is retrograding it means that the planet, instead of moving forward through the signs, is moving backward through them. So since Mercury was previously in Pisces, it has moved back into Aquarius and will continue to move backwards until it gets to the same position that it was in during early February. This is a pretty immediate tonal shift. Mercury is in its worst possible position in Pisces, so it getting out of there and back into Aquarius is really going to help it be able to navigate this retrograde with a little more ease. If last month Mercury was drowning, they are now out of the water, still coughing up a lung, but at least on land again (I mentioned this last time but if you didn't read it, Mercury is gender-neutral so we are using they/them pronouns). For us, this means that communication, while still not being the best, is going to at least be a little less confusing. The typical Mercury retrograde things are still going to persist for a while, but at least it will be more clear as to why they are happening. So at least we have that.
March 5
Venus -> Taurus
FINALLY, Venus can chill out. If you remember from last month Venus really wasn't doing so hot while in Aries. She was in those squares with all the planets in Capricorn and square positions create a lot of stress on a planet and consequentially the area of life that she rules/falls in your birth chart. Venus is also in its detriment in Aries, so she just doesn't really like being in that sign in general. But Taurus is a whole different story. Venus is in her domicile in Taurus, which means she is in a sign that she rules. This makes Venusian energy really easy to access and express. Venus is also in her domicile in Libra, which will happen in October of this year, however, she is going to be in a pretty rough position at that time, so really right now is the best Venus energy we are going to get all year. That is, once she gets past the Uranus conjunction that's going to happen almost immediately after she switches signs. I will go into more detail about that in a second, but that's going to affect Venus in Taurus for a few days at the beginning of the month, but after that, it's smooth sailing.
Specifically, Venus in Taurus has a stabilizing quality to it. She is very sensual and relaxed. This is the time for some indulgent self-care and others-care, if you will. Eat some good food with friends, smoke some weed, vibe.
March 8
Venus Conjunct Uranus
Okay, so actually pause on those vibes for a second because Uranus has entered the chat. Uranus is the hormonal teenager of the planets. It's unpredictable and loves to rock the boat for no reason. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, it could do something unpredictably good, but whatever it does do you won't see it coming. There's not much to say here, because trying to guess what Uranus is going to do is pretty much pointless, but just expect something really random to happen during the few days before and after March 8th. Once we get to March 10th or so, we can go back to chill Venus in Taurus though so it won't be anything long-lasting.
March 10
Mercury goes Direct
WE ARE OUT OF MERCURY RETROGRADE. WOOP WOOP. THANK GOD.
Things are going to go back to normal for a little bit in all things Mercucian. No more technical difficulties, miscommunications, or delays (for now).
[Insert the calm before the storm here]
March 16
Mercury -> Pisces
So now that Mercury is direct, they are moving forward again, which means they're moving right back into Pisces. All the Mercury in Pisces bullshit from before is going to be happening again, but at least it's not in a retrograde position while doing it. Miscommunication is going to be an issue again, but it won't be as bad, and we aren't going to get the other retrograde stuff. The best way to navigate Mercury in Pisces is to pay attention to your intuition and to avoid taking things at face value. People are going to say dumb shit, but 9/10 they aren't going to mean what they say, so reading between the lines is going to be key here.
March 20
Sun -> Aries
It's officially Spring! The Sun being in Aries is going to get us even further away from the swampiness that we were in during February. The Spring equinox has a lot of symbolic qualities to it and is essentially the New Year in astrology. If your New Years resolutions didn't really work out earlier, maybe the astrological New Year will provide a little bit more luck for you.
March 22
Saturn -> Aquarius
This is the big transit of the month and the one that is really going to change the landscape for a lot of people for a while. Saturn has been in Capricorn since December of 2017 and has not been in Aquarius for 3 decades now. People who have a lot of planets in Capricorn can take a momentary sigh of relief, but people with a lot of Aquarius are about to carry the heavyweight of Saturn on their shoulders instead (I have a stellium, which means having 3+ planets in one sign, in both Aquarius and Capricorn, so I'm going to keep suffering). If you have your natal Saturn in the sign of Aquarius (most people born between 1992 and 1994 will have this placement) that means that this is the beginning of your Saturn return and so this is a good time to do some research into what that means for you. This is just a preview, because Saturn will retrograde back into Capricorn later on this year, but for the next 3 months or so we will be seeing what this new era is going to look like.
Saturn deals with structure. He's a rigid hard-ass and brings restriction where ever he goes. He takes things slowly and likes things done right. He looks at the long term effects and is anything but passionate or impulsive. He doesn't care if your happy as long as your doing what is right, which is why he is often associated with the law. Where ever you have Saturn falling in your chart is going to feel like there is a prison around it and any planets there are going to have a hard time expressing themselves. Even if you don't have any physical planets in Aquarius, look to what house you have in Aquarius because there will be that tension in whatever area of your life that house rules. (If you don't know how to read a chart and want someone to do all that for you, I can do that for you. All you gotta do is purchase a reading #shamelessplug).
The best way to describe the feeling of Saturn is: You know when you are driving on the high way and there is a cop on the side of the road and everyone slows down even if they weren't even speeding to begin with. That is Saturn energy. It's going to disrupt the flow, make things slow down, and create this feeling of wariness and anxiety.
March 30
Mars -> Aquarius & Mars Conjunct Saturn
Mars is officially out of the Capricorn party (can we really call anything in Capricorn a party? It was more like the Capricorn business meeting) leaving just Pluto and Jupiter to hang out in there alone. There is not much to say about this on its own because he immediately conjoins Saturn which also just moved into Aquarius. This sucks. Both Mars and Saturn are considered malefic planets, which means they are mean, and when put together you have a sadistic fuck fest.
Let's take the example from before but change it up to fit this situation more accurately. This is if you are driving on the highway and you see a cop, but you were driving 100 mph because Mars loves to drive fast, so you slam on the breaks which causes the car driving behind you to rear-end you and now you have like a 10 car collision. You may not necessarily die from the accident, but your car is most definitely totalled and you are not walking out without some kind of injury. That is Mars conjunct Saturn.
This is going to be a hard ass time for whatever area of life Aquarius is in your chart, but especially those heavy Aquarius and Saturn return people I was talking about earlier. This is going to be the worst that Saturn in Aquarius is really going to get this year so if you can get through this harsh beginning of this long Saturn transit, when we get to it again in December, it will feel like a breeze in comparison. That being said Saturn loves consequences, good or bad he will give to you what has been coming to you. So the best thing that you can do is to do the right thing. Shit is going to be coming for you left and right, but if you try to remain the bigger person, when we get back to Saturn in Aquarius after the retrograde, it will be even easier. This is sort of like a test, to see how you will respond to a shitty scenario and if you pass, you'll be fine. If you fail, I'm sure you'll still be fine, but things will be relatively worse for you. Try and keep a level head and avoid doing anything that may result in you getting injured, fired, arrested, broken up with/divorced, kicked out of your house, ect. Because even if you don't face the consequences for it now, you will during some point during Saturn in Aquarius.
And on that light note, that is the month of March!
I know that it seems really bad, but we get a solid break from all the bullshit from last month for the majority of this month and if you were able to survive all of that, you'll be able to survive all of this as well. Note that these things won't affect every area of life, only the ones affected by the transits in your personal natal chart. If you would like to know more specifics than you can purchase an advanced reading and I can give you more insight into not only this month but the months up ahead.
Thank you so much for reading!
